Pay Rate: $20/hour

Hours per Week: 36

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 8:00 PM – 8:00 AM | Weekends required

Employment Type: Contract | Full-Time

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Patient Access Representative to support patient registration and front-end administrative functions in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This role requires professionalism, strong organizational skills, and the ability to provide compassionate service while ensuring accurate and efficient patient intake.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Registration: Collect and input patient demographic, insurance, and personal information into the electronic health record (EHR) system with accuracy.
  • Insurance Verification: Confirm patient coverage and benefits with insurance providers, clearly communicating details or discrepancies.
  • Scheduling: Coordinate patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals to optimize scheduling and minimize delays.
  • Customer Service: Serve as the first point of contact, addressing patient inquiries with empathy, professionalism, and discretion.
  • Documentation: Prepare, update, and maintain admission and discharge documentation in compliance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with phone calls, billing inquiries, and maintaining accurate, organized patient files.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Prior experience in clerical, administrative, or healthcare settings preferred.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Compassion, patience, and professionalism when working with patients in high-stress situations.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain detailed records, and prioritize effectively.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with medical software, EHR systems, and standard office applications.
  • Detail-Oriented: Accuracy in data entry and compliance with regulations is essential.
